Volunteers
Our volunteers are a critical part of our programs and our success. The volunteers
at our shelter work directly with the animals or serve during special events such
as the Mutt Strut at Hoover Park. Our volunteers also assist us in continuing our
educational presentations in local schools and our pet therapy programs in area
nursing homes. It is impossible to express how important the volunteers are to our
continued work.
We have many volunteers that come in the shelter to walk the dogs, spend time one
on one with the cats, bathe puppies, or simply give the animals in the shelter extra
love and attention. Some of these volunteers come in for an hour, others spend all
day; what extra time they have they give to the pets of the Stark County Humane
Society.
Volunteers under the age of 18 must have their parent/legal guardian sign a
waiver prior to volunteering. Volunteers under the age of 16 must be
accompanied by a parent/legal guardian while volunteering at the shelter.
