President's Report - Spring 2026

President's Report - Spring 2026

The Stark County Humane Society (SCHS) is proud to be an active and dedicated part of the Stark County community. We kicked off the spring season with our St. Pawty's Day - Reverse Raffle at the North Canton Eagles.  This sold - out event was truly spectacular, raising both awareness and vital funds for the homeless animals in our care.  We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make the evening a "pawsitive" success!

Following our Annual Meeting and Elections in March, we were pleased to renew the terms of Larry Henderhan, Dr. Steve Smith, DDS, and Mark Manwaring.  We also welcomed three new, passionate animal advocates to the Board: Gretchen Falcone, Andrew Burton, and Dr. Elizabeth Russ, MD.

In addition, the Board of Directors elected its officers: I will serve as President, Colleen Porter as Vice President, Mark Manwaring as Treasurer, and Chris Lewis as Secretary.

As we move full speed into spring, we are excited to be out in the community connecting with supporters and spreading our mission.  Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and keep visiting our website for upcoming events and opportunities to get involved.  If you are interested in volunteering or having SCHS participate in an event, forms are available online.

Don't forget to tune in every Friday for Furry Friday on Q92 for weekend happenings and shelter updates!

Wishing you a wonderful spring season,

Nikolina Karvoski, President
